Sexual health psychotherapist, trainer and author Douglas Braun-Harvey bridges sexual and mental health and facilitates individual, group and organizational change. Through his psychotherapy, training, writing and consultation women and men discover, develop, implement and maintain their unique vision for sexual health. Psychotherapy: Outpatient individual and group therapy for men with out-of-control sexual behavior (OCSB) since 1993. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) and Certified Sex Therapist (AASECT Certified). Currently Mr. Braun-Harvey is in private practice in San Diego, CA. Training and Teaching: National and International trainer bridging principles of sexual health within a wide range of health and human services including drug and alcohol treatment, psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, HIV prevention and treatment, sexual abuse and maltreatment, family court services and OCSB. Adjunct Faculty in the Masters of Counseling Program at San Diego State University. Writing: Author of Sexual Health in Drug and Alcohol Treatment: A group facilitation manual as well as several journal articles, Mr. Braun-Harvey promotes integrating sexual health principles and conversations to improve treatment outcomes and retain women and men within current health care services. Consultations: Mr. Braun-Harvey consults with national, regional, corporate, non-profit, state, county and local health care services to design, implement and evaluate sexual health based programming for improving heath outcomes. He developed and supervised the nations first sexual behavior relapse prevention program at Stepping Stone of San Diego. This pioneering program improved addiction treatment outcomes through a psycho-educational program linking relapse-prevention strategies with principles of sexual health. |
