DOUGLAS BRAUN-HARVEY, MFT, CGP has been a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT) since 1982 and a certified group psychotherapist (CGP) since 1994. He received his Master's degree in counseling from National University and is the Clinical Director and founder of the Sexual Dependency Institute (SDI).

Braun-Harvey provides consultation and training in areas of sexuality, sexual behavior problems and gay men's sexual health.

Braun-Harvey presents locally, nationally and internationally on issues of sexuality, sexual dependency, sexual orientation, domestic violence and substance abuse. He is also a qualified expert witness for the San Diego Superior Court on gay male battering syndrome.

In 1993, Braun-Harvey founded the Sexual Dependency Institute (SDI). SDI provides outpatient therapy to men of all sexual orientations who are concerned about their sexual behavior.

Braun-Harvey is also a lecturing faculty at San Diego State University Masters in counseling program. He has over 20 years experience working in all levels of mental health care and treatment. Braun-Harvey has a private practice providing individual and group therapy in San Diego, California.
